Mother of murdered Ashley Pond settles with state for $10,000



OREGON CITY - The mother of murdered Oregon City girl Ashley Pond has agreed to settle a lawsuit against the state Department of Human Services for $10,000.
Pond and her classmate, 13-year-old Miranda Gaddis, were killed by Ward Weaver in 2002. Their mothers and a 19-year-old rape victim had sought as much $1.5 million in a series of lawsuits.
