St. Louis, MO -- June 30, 1989 -- Four days after a bullet struck Tiffany M. Daniels in the head she died - and all, her father says, because she "was just in the the right place at the wrong time."
The circumstance was a drive-by shooting, apparently in retaliation for an earlier fight that Tiffany had played no part in.
Although police say they have suspects, no one is yet in custody.
On the evening she was shot, Tiffany and her boyfriend drove to visit friends. Before they arrived, a fight broke out among some youths, but neither Tiffany nor her boyfriend became involved.
Some time after the fight, a carload of people drove by, spraying shots at some of those who had been involved in the fight. None of them was hit, but the car then pulled alongside a car in which Tiffany and her boyfriend were sitting.
Four shots rang out. One struck Tiffany in the head.
