****COPIED AND PASTED FROM LITTLESTANGELS.NET
I received the following email requesting that I include Rosie on the site.
Please include the story of Rosie Gordon. She was kidnapped July 2, 1989 when she was 10 - her body was found 2 days later on July 4th. Her killer was never found.
If you need anymore information, please write me back. Rosie was one of my closest friends, and the 10-year anniversary of the death just passed. I'd like for her to be remembered. Thank you.
Rosie was riding her bike home from a friends house, about 4 blocks from her house. The friend rode with her halfway home, like they always did, then, Rosie went on alone.
About 300 yards from where her friend left her, Rosie's bike was found leaning up against a fence right off a neighborhood road. Her dad found the bike when he went looking for her and called the police.
We live a small, quiet neighborhood in Burke, VA where a break-in is a big deal.
This stunned everyone.
Rosie had been strangled and found in a ditch five miles from home by someone driving by. Her face was covered with leaves but there wasn't a real attempt to cover the body. Her clothes were not disturbed, but they're still not sure if she was sexually abused or not.
