(Las Cruces-AP) -- An autopsy report shows that a 22-year-old New Mexico State University graduate student was strangled.
Kathryn Jaye Sepich was last seen by friends at 3 a.m. Sunday as she left a party in her neighborhood to walk home. Her body was found about eight hours later by target shooters near an old Las Cruces dump east of the city.
Dona Ana County Sheriffs investigator Robyn Gojkovich said Sepich was possibly sexually assaulted and it appears she was killed at a location other than where her body was found.
Investigators are still interviewing about 50 people who attended the party and collecting DNA samples.
At the Sepich home in Carlsbad, a family spokesman said the family would likely offer a substantial reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
